Captain's Comment

The Season is in full swing now, already into the month of May....The temperatures have risen and the frosty white snow blankets on the grounds are a thing of the past! I am pleased to say that we have been working round the clock here at Woodland getting your course ready for the 2005 Golfing Season.. We have an exciting Golf Season full of events that I do hope you participate in. These Events, Tournaments, etc. are planned for you, the Members. So please get involved and you will see what a great time you can have here at Woodland Greens Golf Club. The Season is short, so enjoy it while you can.

I have gotten some pretty good feedback with our latest and newest edition, Woodland Turf Talk. The Newsletter is being published for you, the Members, for your enjoyment and to keep you updated with the many Tournaments, Events, etc. that are happening this 2005 Golf Season. Our Website, www.woodlandgc.com is being viewed by many so check it for our upcoming events! Our website and newsletter are done by the same company that also operates RhodyGolf.com.

Our Annual Meeting was held on April 8th......A good time was had by all. We welcomed our newest Members and all Committees shared their reports with the Members. An abundance of appetizers were enjoyed by all.

Maintenance being done on the Golf Course: Now that the Golf Course has been cleaned up from the Winter, please bear with us as we do some Spring Projects..Greens will be aerated Sunday afternoon, May 1st and Monday, May 2nd. Tees will be aerated, sliced and seeded, Fairways will also be sliced and seeded. The timing and length of these projects will depend upon the weather.. Thank you for your cooperation...

Tournament Results

The Challenge Cup

Woodland Greens recently played host to the Challenge Cup Junior Match Play Championship. 54 Junior Golfers opened their season playing under difficult weather conditions. Hendricken High School Junior, Dan Mollicone, braved the elements en route to a 2 under par 68 to earn Medalist Honors. The following weekend players were treated to ideal weather and playing conditions. The Challenge Cup would like to thank Dave, the Woodland Greens Membership and their exceptional staff for their continued support of Junior Golf.

The A,B,C,D Scramble

After a foggy, misty morning the A B C D Scramble got off to a great start.

The Winners were:

Governor's Cup (underway)

Qualifying for the "Governor's Cup" started on Fri, April 29th and will run through the weekend and continue into the weekend of May 6th, 7th, 8th. Make sure you declare before playing (36 holes).

Well what better way for the Wed. Night Women's League to start off than with temperatures in the 80's...We got off to a good start, enjoying the warm temps and company of good friends.

Information sheets on the League, Teams, Schedule, Handicaps, etc. were handed out. Looks to be a "Fun" Season!.. Hit em straight Ladies!!
