Captain's Comment

 

The course is coming along; slowly but surely. I have to commend my workcrew for a great job in cleaning up the course and preparing it for the 2011 Golf Season. They have worked hard and diligently in getting the course in shape for your golfing pleasure. It has not been easy, but it is coming along! ...A Special thank you to my brother-in-law John Jr. for organizing and overseeing his son and his nephews in helping with the cleanup of the course.

A special welcome to our new bartenders, Dan and Ann, and our new Chef, Rick Petrella...Stop in and see them and grab a bite to eat.

Just a reminder: In order to keep the course looking its very best for you, the Members, I can't emphasize enough the importance of doing your part in helping me and my crew maintain it and keep it in good shape. Please take the time to follow what are "Simple Rules" of the Course. These rules are only enforced to keep the course in good shape. Please Follow Cart Signs, Replace Divots, Fix Ball Marks, and Rake Traps. This will help add to the beauty of the course and make your golfing experience much more enjoyable.

So for now, let's hope May is better than April and we can all enjoy the game of Golf. Hope to see you on the Course.

Friday Night Kick-Off

It was nice to see familiar faces and some new ones at our FridayNight "Kickoff" with everyone anxiously awaiting some nice Spring weather. A meeting was held where the Members Committeewas introduced. We welcome Dan Clawson, Ken Ferrara, Ken McKay,Toby Rose and Gary Ley as being a part of this Committee.

Also, a Special presentation to our Winners from last year's ClubChampionship Tournament.....

  • Our sincere condolences to the family of Russ Fontaine, one of our own! Russ was a Member here at Woodland Greens for many years....As you know, Russ was a grateful recipient of a heart tranplant in 1996. He was a great friend to many. The Woodland Greens Golfing Community will indeed miss Russ, the sweet, soft-spoken man that he was. We would like to extend our sympathy to his wife of 25 years; Rose, his children Russ Jr., David and Daniel and his 7 grandchildren..We will never forget our friend and will forever remember his dry sense of humor and that infectious smile that touched so many of us here on and off the course....We will miss you Russ!

  • Also, our condolences to the family of Tom Daley and Art Bequette, both past bartenders here at Woodland Greens who passed away this past winter. Both residents of Florida.

We would like to welcome our new Chef, RICK PETRELLA. Rick is very excited about joining Woodland Greens. He was the Executive Chef at Marchetti's for 14 years. He has a full service Menu, soup daily, and a $pecial entree each day.... The Kitchen will be open from 11-9 daily. As of May 1st, Rick will have the Dining Room open from 4-9 for your Dining Pleasures. He will offer a $pecial each day and on Friday's he will serve Fish and Chips along with a Fish $pecial. Please be sure to stop in and taste a sample of Rick's mouth watering food.....For those of you that have already tasted some of Rick's Specialties, I say no more.....
