Captain's Comment

 

Is it September already? Where did the summer go? The calendar may say Fall comes in September but I am not ready for Fall just yet... September and October offer spectacular weather for Golfing... Let's hope that nice Golfing weather in Sept. & Oct. is in the cards for us!!

Aeration of the Greens are now all completed. Fairways and Tees will be in the near future. I am pleased to announce that the 2011 Dues structure will be the same as 2010. Anyone that brings in a new Member in Sept. or Oct. of this year will receive a $100.00 credit towards their 2011 Membership. Any new Member may join now and play until Feb. 2012.

I am looking forward to our Final Member Guest, the Member Member, the "Senior Open" which is offered to golfers of ages 55 & over, a Mixed Scotch and of course, the Turkey Shoot, our final tournament of the season. I am hoping for some good turnouts! Be sure to check out the Upcoming Events Schedule for all the dates of future Tournaments and Banquets and our Membership $PECIAL.....Please get involved and SUPPORT your Club....

Woodland Wishes

  • Our condolences to the family of George & Pam Borges. Pam loss her stepfather, Ennis Jones. He was 87. An avid golfer and past Member of the Alpine C.C., he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.....Our sincere sympathy to the family.

  • Get Well Wishes go out to our good friend Edie Slater on a quick recovery after surgery to repair a broken heel. Those "Slater's" just can't stay out of trouble! Get well Edie from all your friends at Woodland...

2010 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

On October 24th,  Courtney and I will be participating in the 2010 Making Strides against Breast Cancer walk at Roger Williams Park. We are asking friends and family to sponsor our walk since this is a key fundraising event for the  American Cancer Society who continue to work toward a breast cancer cure.

Our involvement with the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is as unique and special as the story that motivates you. Each step we take is personal. And each step is helping to save lives. More than a walk, the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event describes the progress we’re making together to save lives and create a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays.
