Captain's Comment

The course is coming along nicely. Aerating of the greens, tees, aprons and fairways have been completed and day by day the course is getting back in shape. There are many events coming up this month, and my main goal is to get the course in "tip top" shape for your golfing pleasure.

Your help is needed! I can't stress enough the importance of following carts signs! Please keep carts on paths and 30 feet from the green. There is no need for a gas cart to be in between the 4th green and right trap. Also, please keep all pull carts off of tee's, aprons, & greens. It would be greatly appreciated by the staff. Let's not abuse the rules! Thank you!

The Two Day Member Member Tournament was a great success with many new faces as Winners this year! Congratulation to all the winners! We have some exciting upcoming Tournaments scheduled for this month. The Two Day Member Guest and the Mixed Scotch which is always a lot of fun with many laughs. Do sign up for these Tournaments.....Club Championship Qualify is also on tap for this month. Check dates to qualify...

Well for now, enjoy the rest of the Spring and I hope to see you on the course.

Woodland Wishes

Our sincere condolences to the family of Lee Dotson, one of our own. He was a Member here at Woodland and a great friend to many. This unexpected passing was a shock to the Woodland Greens Golfing Community. We would like to extend our sympathy to his wife of 42 years; Evelyn, his children Todd Dotson & Kimberly Hancock and his grandchildren Cooper & Chloe..... We will never forget our friend and will forever remember his sense of humor and that infectious laugh that touched so many of us here...We will miss you Lee!

Important NOTICE to our MEMBERS

MEMBERS using CARTS!
Anyone continuing on to play 18 holes with a CART after you have already paid for 9 holes using a CART, YOU MUST STOP by the Clubhouse and PAY before you continue on playing! This would be greatly appreciated.

Golf Tip of the Month: When's it's breezy, swing easy!!

How many golfers have heard this old stand by? Let's get into just a little bit more detail about this. What will swinging easy do for you when the wind is up?

For one thing it increases the chances of solid contact creating a more penetrating ball flight. (Swinging harder in an attempt to fight the wind makes it more likely you'll make poor contact for various reasons: contracting the wrong muscles in the wrong sequence, losing your center of balance, increased grip tension, the list goes on...)

For another thing it compresses the ball less causing it to spin less, which also creates a more penetrating ball flight.
