Welcome back Members for a new season of Golf at Woodland Greens Golf Club. I hope the winter break gave you an opportunity to relax and recharge for the challenges of a new year. A Special welcome to our newest Members joining our Club. I wish you every opportunity to enjoy the Course and have fun!
Our monthly newsletter is provided to you to be an informative tool to what's going on at Woodland. I do hope that our newsletter, "Turf Talk" will help you plan ahead and get involved with the many Tournaments, and events that we have scheduled for our upcoming 2008 Golfing Season. It will be published on the first of each month and sent directly to your home via e-mail. I do hope you will enjoy it. So be sure to keep yourself updated with all the upcoming Events,Tournaments, Tournament Results, Specials, and latest news by visiting our website, www.woodlandgc.com.
The winter always seems to take its time giving way to Spring, but eventually the warmer weather will be here and we will be back on the Golf Course. As always, Woodland has planned a season of great golf for our Members and Guests. As usual, our season begins in April, with the annual Season "KICK-OFF", which will be held on Friday, April 4th, at 7PM. Please come join us for free Appetizers & Beer. You will be able to meet the Tournament Committee. If anyone is interested in helping out, this is a good time to get to know the members of the Committee and your services will be greatly appreciated. I encourage everyone to attend this meeting.
With confidence that this will be an exciting and rewarding year for us, I offer you my best wishes for an enjoyable, successful season at Woodland Greens Golf Club.
Happy and enjoyable golfing!
Dave

GHIN: Submitting your scores via the computer
Ghin: We have a new addition here at the Golf Course. You can put away those pencils for now to post your scores. The IN-Club has purchased a computer for your convenience for you to
post your own scores. A quick rundown will be done at the
Kickoff Meeting on April 4th. If you have any questions on how to post your scores, someone will be available to help you. The first revision date will be April 16th, 2008.,Every two weeks, your Handicap will be revised. Ghin will automatically send you your updated Handicap via e-mail. If you have not given me your e-mail address, you may do so at the meeting. On each revision date, which will be every two weeks (I will have the revision dates posted at the clubhouse), you may print out your own label. It is not necessary to print out labels ahead of the revision dates. This system is for your convenience, let's not abuse it.
Smokefree Public Place and Workplace Law
As you are all aware, on June 29, 2004, Governor Donald L. Carcieri signed into law a bill passed by the RI General Assembly that prohibits smoking in public places and workplaces in Rhode Island. The “Public Health and Workplace Safety Law”
took effect on March 1, 2005. This law will protect Rhode Islanders at work and in public places from the effects of secondhand smoke. The law ensures a smoke-free environment for business owners, employees, and the public. Rhode Islanders will reap the health and economic benefits of being
smoke-free.
So Remember: NO SMOKING IN THE CLUBHOUSE OR ON THE FRONT CLUBHOUSE STAIRS
