If anyone is interested in helping out, this is a good time to get to know the members of the Committee and your services will be greatly appreciated. I encourage everyone to attend this meeting.

With confidence that this will be an exciting and rewarding year for us, I offer you my best wishes for an enjoyable, successful season at Woodland Greens Golf Club.

Friday Night Couple's League

It's that time of the year again, really!! Hi to all that are returning and to our new couples!

We will use tee times as we have in the past. The tee will be closed from 4:30 pm - 5:45 pm. I would appreciate if every attempt is made to get there on time for your starting tee times. If you know of a date(s) that you will be unable to play, please call me as soon as you can so that I can get a sub.

My number is 508-345-2478 or e-mail me as cdionne@kkm.com
.

If you know of any subs, let me know so I can add them to my list. The format will be the same which I will discuss with you at the meeting on Sunday April 22, at 2PM.

I encourage all Ladies to get a GHIN handicap. It helps me when determining strokes each week with your matches. Please put your score on the posting sheet for an accurate Handicap; and turn in your scorecard as I will be tracking scores and adjusting "league handicaps" as the year goes on.

The league again will be $150.00 per couple for the year and the games pot will be $10.00 per person, so the total will be $170.00. I will be collecting this money on the first night of golf, Friday, April 27th in full; or you can pay half that night and the other half on June 29th. For non- members, a reminder that the 20 week greens fee is to be collected at the start of the league Season. .

At the meeting, schedules will be handed out. Please try to attend. Maybe some of you will want to play before and some after the meeting to get ready for Friday nights kick off. We welcome input from anyone and assistance of any kind is always appreciated.

See you then!

Thanks,

Cathy

Smoke free Public Place and Workplace Law

As you are all aware, On June 29, 2004, Governor Donald L. Carcieri signed into law a bill passed by the RI General Assembly that prohibits smoking in public places and workplaces in Rhode Island. The “Public Health and Workplace Safety Law” took effect on March 1, 2005. This law will protect Rhode Islanders at work and in public places from the effects of secondhand smoke. The law ensures a smoke-free environment for business owners, employees, and the public.

Rhode Islanders will reap the health and economic benefits of being smoke-free .

So Remember...

NO SMOKING IN THE CLUBHOUSE OR ON THE FRONT CLUBHOUSE STAIRS.

Golf Tip of the Month

AVERAGE TO HIGH HANDICAPPERS CAN LOWER SCORES QUICKLY!

There are two vital shots that every golfer can learn to execute successfully: the chip shot and pitch shot. But you must use the proper fundamentals and technique or your time will be wasted. You develop a solid chipping and pitching game, it will lower your putts per round exponentially. Your putting won't change, but you'll have easier putts because your approach shots will be closer to the hole. That's how you begin to shoot lower scores.

Please Note:

We will soon be accepting Visa/Mastercard.
Not to be used for Membership Purchase or Tournament Play.
