Captain's
Comment

What a great month of August. We surely were blessed with warm, sunny weather which made the various tournaments and play for all of our Members all the more enjoyable. Looks like the "dog days" of summer are somewhat behind us....but then again, there is always and hopefully Indian Summer that will "fall" upon us....Let's keep our fingers crossed. The calendar may say Fall comes in September but I am not ready for Fall just yet. However, September and October offer spectacular weather for Golfing... Let's hope that nice Golfing weather in Sept. & Oct. is in the cards for us!!
Aeration of the Greens, Tees, and Fairways are now complete.
I am looking forward to our Final Member-Guest, the
Member-Member and the "Senior Open" which is offered to golfers of ages 55 & over. I am hoping for some good turnouts! Be sure to check out the Upcoming Events Schedule for all the dates of future Tournaments and Banquets.....Please get involved and SUPPORT your Club....
So for now, enjoy the sunshine and your Golfing Days here at Woodland as the summer winds down and Fall creeps on in... Have a Great Labor Day Weekend.... Wherever you go, whatever you do, make it a SAFE Holiday!!
Enjoy & Happy Golfing!
Dave

Top Golf Tip of the Month: Sand Shots
BEST TIP: Hit with the force necessary to throw a handful of sand onto the green.
With an open stance, keep weight evenly distributed and play ball one inch forward of center, with club face slightly open. Make smooth three-quarter swing, letting chest turn away from target on backswing.
