Captain's Comment

The course is coming along; slowly but surely. I have to commend my workcrew for a great job in cleaning up the course and preparing it for the 2006 Golf Season. They have worked hard and diligently in getting your course in shape for your golfing pleasure. It has not been easy, but it is coming along! The winter was not kind to the Golf Course so there has been much to do in getting it back in shape! ...Hopefully "Mother Nature" will be a little bit kinder in providing us with some sunshine to grow some grass.

I do hope everyone has gotten acquainted with the "Simple Rules" of the Golf Course. These rules are only enforced to keep your course in good shape. The greens will be aerated on Sun. May 14th in the afternoon and on Mon. May 15 in the morning.

We have added an extra Tournament to the schedule this year at the request of many Members who have shown an interest in having a tournament on Memorial Day Weekend. So on Sat. May 27th, we will be having a "Guest Day" Tournament ($100 a foursome) which will include Golf (18 holes), Carts and a delicious dinner prepared by Ron. Shotgun will be at 1:00. Please sign up. It should be a great way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend with friends.

For your convenience a fee schedule has been posted below for all Upcoming Tournaments.

So for now, enjoy the Golf and hope to see you on the Course.

Golf Tip of the Month: Plain & Simple Putting ~ 5 Simple Steps

1.Position

Position yourself so your eyes are over the intended line of the putt (ball line).

To do this, hold your putter loosely and directly under your eyes as you address the putt.

2.Grip

Your hands should work as a unit and not be spread apart. The farther apart your hands are, the more likely you are to use your wrists, which is not desired.

3.Aim

Find a target and imagine a straight line through the center of your putter.

4.Stroke

Your putting stroke should be dominated by the shoulders and arms and involve as little wrist movement as possible. Minimize body movement.

5.Acceleration

Successful putters have a back swing and follow-through of equal length. This promotes acceleration and aids distance control.
